MCB Camp Pendleton - CA
Ideal terrain for training Marines
One of the Marine Corps’ largest West Coast expeditionary training sites is Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton. Located on the Southern California coast, the terrain is ideal for multiple training scenarios: sea-to-shore, mountain warfare and special forces operations.
This base is home to several commands and training schools, including:
I Marine Expeditionary Force: a Marine Air Ground Task Force responsible for maintaining combat readiness for any type of mission.
Marine Aircraft Group 39: five squadrons of AH-1W Super Cobra and UH-1N Huey aircrafts and three CH-46 Sea Knight squadrons that support Marine units on land and sea.
Assault Amphibian School Battalion: premier training for driving and operating the Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV).
