MCB Quantico - VA

Located in the Virginia woods along the Potomac River, Marine Corps Base (MCB) Quantico is a major base for Marine Corps training and leadership. Command units here develop the concepts and programs that are critical for future battles.  
 
Training schools on base include Officer Candidates School, the Basic School, the Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy and Marine Corps University. 
 
Over the years, Quantico earned the name "Crossroads of the Corps" because of the high number of Marines assigned there temporarily during training. At any given time, there are more than 16,000 civilians and Marines on base.
