COVID-19 Response

In the face of COVID-19, the Marine Corps upholds its commitment to fighting and winning our Nation’s battles. This means continuing to issue the call to serve while keeping the health and well-being of our prospects and recruits seeking the title Marine our top priority. In order to ensure our current and future effectiveness, we must protect our most precious resource: our Marines. See the steps we’re taking to ensure health and safety. If you have additional questions, contact a recruiter in your area.

For Prospects:

· Recruiters in recruiting stations across the Nation comply with CDC social distancing guidelines remaining six feet apart and in groups of ten or fewer

· Rather than meet face-to-face, recruiters are using technology to speak to young men and women interested in pursuing the title Marine including social media and messaging apps and will resume in-person prospecting where conditions permit

· Prospects are asked to self-isolate for 14 days prior to recruit training

For Recruits:

· Shipping numbers have been reduced by half to maintain CDC requirements

· Recruits arriving at our recruit depots are put in an area of staging for 14 days while a robust medical team continually assesses whether symptoms are developing including checking for fever in the morning and afternoon

· Individuals found to show symptoms are rapidly moved to isolation status

· Training activities have been adjusted to accommodate social distancing guidance where practical

· Recruits are also distributed face masks and frequent hand washing is expected
